Volunteers

There are many benefits to be gained from being a volunteer at Ballarat Health Services. Not only are you giving residents, patients and visitors and staff much needed support to help them accomplish personal and organisational goals, but also you will gain enduring friendships and acquire new skills.

Our volunteers have a wide range of interests, backgrounds and skills and willingly give of their time for many reasons: socialisation, employment opportunities, personal development or to contribute to the community.

Volunteers work in the day centres, hostels, nursing homes, Gandarra Unit, Dialysis Unit, Paediatric Unit and Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC).

Complementing the work of staff through craft activities, reading, gentle exercise and massage, outings, gardening, conversation, listening, helping to write letters to family and friends and other social activities.
