Sub-Acute Services

Sub-Acute Services comprise both inpatient and outpatient services for people who have been unwell or injured.

Inpatient services are

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation Ward – where medical, nursing and allied health staff are specialised in providing programs to restore or maintain function for people who have experienced an illness or event that has altered their functional ability and lifestyle.
  • Inpatient Complex Care Unit (Jim Gay Unit) – where elderly people with complex health issues are provided care by specialist staff. These issues are usually related to the aging process and often include loss of function and increased burden of care
  • Palliative Care Unity (Gandarra) – where people with advanced progressive incurable illness with intractable symptoms such as pain, breathlessness, delirium and/or psychosocial issues are cared for by a specialist team.

Outpatient services are

  • Community and Home Based rehabilitation for both adults and children
  • Specialist Clinics relating to memory, falls, continence or lymphoedema
  • Acquired Brain Injury clinic
