The boards of Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital, Stawell Regional Health, Wimmera Health Care Group and Ballarat Health Services have welcomed the Victorian Government’s approval for the health services to come together as one.
The new health service called Grampians Health officially commenced on 1 November 2021, following years of strong collaboration and close partnerships between the four health services.
Following the Minister’s approval, Grampians Health will embark on an inclusive service planning process, defining a shared vision and future, while retaining local ownership and identity.
With the support of a dedicated project team with experts from across the four health services, we will be talking to staff, volunteers, patients and residents to continue to understand local needs, while continuing high quality care.
From day one of the new health service, there were no significant changes to how each health service is run day-to-day. Over the coming months we will work together to develop a clinical services plan that will address the unique needs of each community.

Grampians Health is furthering its commitment to improving equality and access to healthcare for our community with the launch of the inaugural Grampians Health Strategic Plan following approvals from Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas.
Residents of Edenhope, Stawell, Horsham, Dimboola and Ballarat are invited to have their say on how they would like to see the newly formed Grampians Health deliver the best care and service, through a community survey now open.
Grampians Health has appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer Dale Fraser to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
