Completing your Prevocational Doctor Post Graduate Year 1 at Grampians Health Ballarat will ensure you will experience hands on learning in a supportive and well supervised environment.
You will be a highly valued member of the team with excellent consultant contact time and high expectations with respect to your medical education and skills development. Our senior medical staff are committed to providing training opportunities and support career development of Prevocational Doctors (PVDs).

Intern Rotations Available
Grampians Health Ballarat offers 35 Intern positions at the acute and sub-acute sites in Ballarat in 2025.
Each Intern will complete five rotations that meet the requirements of the AMC National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training:
- General medicine
- General surgery
- Emergency medicine
- Geriatrics
- Rehabilitation
- Cardiology
- Gastroenterology
- Orthopaedics
- ENT
- Urology
