Traineeships

The Enrolled Nursing Traineeship is a 2 year contract, 5 days per week. Trainees complete the Diploma of Nursing as students of Federation TAFE, being on campus at Grampians Health Ballarat three days a week and working in Residential Aged Care Facilities at Grampians Health Ballarat two days per week.

Initially the work days are supernumerary, after 6 months experience then moving into EFT positions. Classes are on-site at Grampians Health Ballarat as well as virtual, being held 3 days per week (unpaid). All required clinical placements – Sub-Acute, Mental Health, Acute – are held within Grampians Health Ballarat.

As students of Federation TAFE trainees also have full access to student services on campus, and trainees are well supported through their work rotations and clinical rotations, and become a close team over the 2 years.
