Welcome to the Emergency Medicine Education and Training (EMET) site. We aim to provide a structured education program for junior medical staff aimed at covering issues within the department from clinical diagnosis and patient outcomes.
This site is an initiative of the Emergency Medicine Education and Training (EMET) programme, for which the funding has been generously granted by the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM.  It aims is to provide high quality clinical training to regional and rural clinical staff.
Our goal is to provide a high-quality education resource for emergency medical staff that is cost free and password free. We are particularly interested in providing learning resources to people who are not enrolled in formal training programs.
Please feel free to use the resources on this website. We simply ask that if you use any material you credit us appropriately. We would love to get your input and feedback.

EMET Approved Site

The Emergency Medicine Education and Training Program.

We have multiple Australian College of Emergency Medicine candidates completing either the Emergency Medicine Certificate or Diploma. These candidates are supported to complete all the required education and assessments. We provide a specific supervisor for each candidate.
The Emergency Medicine Education and Training (EMET) Program was established to improve care for patients requiring urgent and emergency care in Australia. The Commonwealth Department of Health has funded the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) to administer the EMET Program since 2011, as a component of the Emergency Medicine Program (EMP)

ACEM’s Emergency Medicine Certificate (EMC) and Diploma (EMD) Programs boost the quality of and access to emergency care in areas of need, particularly in rural Australia, through the increased provision of emergency medicine education, training and supervision led and delivered by Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEMs) for non-specialist doctors.

The Revised EMC Training Program can be found at https://acem.org.au/Content-Sources/Training

Other Resources

Self-directed Workbooks

At the Grampians Health Emergency Department, we aim to provide a structured education program aimed at covering issues within the department from clinical diagnosis to management and patient outcomes.

In combination with the self-directed workbook the aim of providing these resources is to allow medical staff to assess their prior knowledge, and work at their own pace to improve their knowledge of Emergency Medicine.

Junior Medical Officers (JMO’s) are encouraged to review and complete the Grampians Health Self-Directed workbook
