At Grampians Health there is a long-standing commitment to medical education. This includes prevocational training and vocational specialist training for a number of medical colleges. We are accredited for prevocational training by the PMCV for PGY1 and PGY2 Doctors in Training as well as many vocational streams.
Our goal is to provide a high-quality education resources for medical staff that is cost free and password free. We are particularly interested in providing learning resources to people who are not enrolled in formal training programs. Please feel free to use the resources on this website. We simply ask that if you use any material you credit us appropriately. We would love to get your input and feedback.

Prevocational Training

For Interns, Hospital Medical Officers and International Medical Graduates the Internal Medical Service offer twice monthly education sessions focusing on the approach to common medical scenarios on the ward. Chest Pain, hypertension, confusion and agitation to name a few. The sessions are designed to assist with the identification, management and appropriate referral and escalation. These sessions are open to Medical Students.

Basic Physician Training

Weekly paid and protected teaching time is rostered for BPT 3 / Medical Registrars. Education sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, generally between 12:00 - 5:00pm. These sessions compromise a mix of didactic learning, exam preparation and clinical skills development.

These sessions are open to all BPTs, hospital medical officers and medical students.

Case in the Spotlight - education series

Grampians Health clinical staff are committed to provide opportunities for junior doctors to further their learning. Dr Jaycen Cruickshank has developed a number of Case-in-the-spotlight tutorials appropriate for all doctors in training.
