Joy gets crafty
Elise’s grandmother, Joy, is one of our amazing Ballarat volunteers who has recently been busy crafting fiddle mats for our Volunteer Activity Trolley, which we are preparing for Stawell.
Fiddle mats are sensory tools that help patients by providing calm, occupying restless hands, and reducing agitation, particularly beneficial for people with dementia, autism or developmental challenges.
When Joy learned that these mats were needed for the trolley, she generously offered her sewing skills.
She ordered the necessary materials and got to work creating these wonderful mats.
We are truly grateful to Joy for dedicating her time to benefit Grampians Health patients, and we certainly couldn’t resist showcasing her creativity with the adorable Elise.
Volunteers continue to play a crucial role in our health service, and we deeply value their kindness and dedication in supporting our communities.
