Grampians Health is thrilled to announce the appointment of Veronica Furnier-Tosco as Chief Redevelopment and Infrastructure Officer to help lead Ballarat’s biggest ever building project.

Addressing environmental design within the Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment is a high priority. Ballarat Health Services, with the Department of Health, recognise the responsibility we have to minimise our impact, provide leadership and set a positive example to our community.

We’re delighted to announce that our Adroit Insurance & Risk Annual Charity Golf Day raised over $35,000 – but due to the generosity of the Ballarat Health Services Foundation who are doubling all funds raised on the day – we reached an incredible total of over $70,000.

The return of another one of our Volunteer Programs, the Book Trolley has created lots of excitement across the wards, with our volunteer Heather offering free books to patients on a weekly basis.

Grampians Health welcomes the Victorian Government’s announcement of an additional 400 car parking spaces to be delivered as part of the Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment.

Thanks to one of our very generous regular donors, we have received an AccuVein for our Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU). AccuVein is a vein visualisation system that displays a real-time image of veins near the surface of the skin.

We were excited to have held another Volunteer Induction on Wednesday 5th April in Ballarat, onboarding 10 wonderful volunteers.

Grampians Health’s Ballarat Base Hospital will hold a grand opening for a new, volunteer-run gift shop on Thursday 18 May, 2023 at 10 am. The opening of the gift shop will occur during National Volunteers Week.

May 20 is International Clinical Trials Day, and Grampians Health is celebrating a milestone of over 100 clinical trials currently open. Clinical trials are an important part of the advancement of medical research and treatment, helping patients find the best treatment for them, now and into the future.

This week we held an event to celebrate our wonderful Volunteers that dedicate their time to Grampians Health Ballarat.

Grampians Health Ballarat have launched their Tax Appeal to upgrade their mobile dental clinics. Grampians Health mobile dental clinics provide education and treatment in early childhood centres and provide dental clinics for maternity patients, people experiencing disadvantage and homelessness, and for all residents in Grampians Health Ballarat Aged Care homes.

On Wednesday 17th May, we hosted a morning tea for our Volunteers in Lederman Hall Ballarat during National Volunteer Week. It was wonderful to have so many members of our Volunteer Team attend and enjoy the celebrations.

The first tower crane as part of the Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment has been named after Maureen Woodford in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Grampians Health as a volunteer.

Grampians Health Ballarat are doubling all online donations to their Dental Health Tax Appeal on the weekend of Friday 23 June – Sunday 25th June, thanks to the generosity of a group of anonymous donors. All online donations made over the Matched Giving Weekend will have double the impact.
